The Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN) is the apex body for Research and Development in Yoga and Naturopathy established under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 as an autonomous institution in 1978. Apart from research and development, Council is actively engaged in promotion, propagation, education, training & publication of Yoga and Naturopathy systems. So far, the research work of the Council has been carried out by premier Medical, Yoga and Naturopathy institutions of the country with financial support of the Council. The council has been putting constant efforts to establish its own Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy with 100 bedded Hospital facilities to generate sufficient data in support of the potential of this Health Care Systems. Work in regard to the establishment of following CRIs has already been started:

The Council is fully funded by Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India. As per the Memorandum of Association, the objectives of the Council are as under:-
To be a leader in yoga and naturopathy research and education in the country developing evidence based research for use of these Ayush systems as a promotive, preventive, and therapeutic science in health and disease.
To enhance basic, translational and clinical research in Yoga & Naturopathy by fostering research collaboration with scientific institutions, develop skilled manpower through education and training, enrich innovation through workshops, conferences and incubators and propagate Yoga & Naturopathy system by increasing the number of centers and awareness programs. Development of yoga and naturopathy system as lifestyle intervention will go a long way in management of the rising burden of non-communicable diseases in the country.
